Coronavirus update: June 2020

In recent weeks, Italy has proudly announced that it is open. Italian citizens can travel widely across the country and even to other countries. This huge step appears to come with a good level of control over the virus. It’s promising for other countries and of course for our beloved weddings.

From 13th June, weddings will be allowed in Italy again. However, with many restrictions on where and how they can be celebrated which we have summarised below.

  • On arrival, staff and guests must have temperatures taken and will be turned away if temperature if over 37.5

  • Staff and guests must stay 1m apart at all times (unless from the same household) and 2m apart when dancing

  • Staff and guests must wear masks at all times unless eating

  • All areas must be fully cleaned before use and a number of times during the event

  • Guests must wash hands frequently and there must be ample areas specifically for this

  • No self service buffets

  • You must provide a list of all staff and guests at the event

  • You must provide an overview of all measures taken by all staff and guests to meet the covid-19 guidelines

The source used is a decree which is here (in Italian).

We’re pleased that we’re moving closer to celebrating the weddings in the way that we all want to. Obviously there are many more hurdles to overcome, not least actually being able to travel there but this is progress and perhaps more quickly than we’d imagined.

We won’t be conducting any weddings under these rules but we hope to bring you news from our partners and suppliers who have done so, soon.

Take care,

Lucy and Danielle x
