Fall even more deeply in love with your wedding
If you’ve found yourself with a little longer to wait until your wedding, we’re really sorry that you’re in this position and you’ve had to change your plans. We realise that you may fancy a little wedmin break given everything you’ve been through. Or perhaps you may have some time on your hands and can't help but dream about your amazing wedding day.
We’ve been having a think about what you could do with this time. You’ll fall even more in love with the idea of your wedding…which isn’t too far away…
The obvious option is to get that wedmin done, order those last few bits, get those gifts ready, choose your menu, finalise the table plan.
But hang on, this could be time wasted. If your wedding has moved to next year, which is the case for many W&W couples, your catering menu offerings may change by then, your guest numbers may fluctuate and there may be other factors that mean these tasks have to be re-done.
Our couples will know that I am not normally into lots of personal touches for the sake of it. Your whole wedding should be authentic to you in each decision you make. It should feel like you throughout; the food, entertainment, décor and the general vibe.
That said, each wedding has a little touch of something that makes it really personal. And it’s important, even if it’s so discreet that a guest might not notice or even know the meaning. It could be that the pattern of a ribbon chosen for the table is from a life-time loved shop or haberdashery. It could be that your guests’ messages are written on your favourite bottle of wine for you to enjoy on an anniversary ahead, or on a perfectly carved piece of wood from a tree on your venue’s land.
I keep coming back to this thought of using this time, when we all need a little something therapeutic to do the things that add a sprinkle of you into the wedding.
Last night I ordered lots of votives (for candles) and I was thinking about how I could decorate them to suit the colour scheme, maybe initial them for the wedding they’re going to be used for.
I was thinking about stationery and handwritten notes to guests, sharing memories and love…
I was thinking about the napkins that I now have time to hand dye to get that absolutely perfect tone for our couple…
And one piece of wedmin that would be extremely fun and comforting right now: get that playlist in order. What better activity could there be to sprinkle yourselves into your wedding than taking the time to sit together with a bottle of wine (or two!) and listen to some of your favourite songs together, dreaming of that epic party you’re going to have. You could even get your family and friends involved over video.
These ideas are intended to be enjoyable ways to pass the time, while adding to the excitement of your wedding. Not a to do list, or any pressure to do anything more than you’re already doing. As always with us, less is more, it’s all about getting the right things right, enhancing and celebrating the love that’s there and that’s what makes an epic wedding.
What will you do to fall head over heels for your wedding again?
We can’t wait to celebrate with you all soon.
Lots of love, Lucy and Danielle x
