How to chose your Italian wedding catering
Choosing your catering is one of the most important decisions in your wedding planning. There are two key questions to ask; What do you want to feed your guests and who can supply it.
There are lots of different ways to do the catering your wedding day; from guests bringing a dish, picnic style, the traditional buffet, or even a sit down meal.
To make sure your choose the right food for you and your guests, we suggest asking yourselves the following questions:
What's your budget?What's going to work best for your venue?What would meal your guests enjoy?What food would you and your fiancé enjoy on your wedding day?
Once you've decided on the food, it's time to choose the caterer. Here's a few more key questions that you or your wedding planner should be asking potential caterers:
Have they catered for over your number of guests before?Have they done this particular meal before?Can you have a tasting session?Exactly what's included in the pricing? Sometimes caterers include crockery, napkins and tablecloths - and even furniture!Do they prepare the food on sight or before the wedding? On sight is preferable as it's cooked fresh.Do they cater for kids and allergies?Do they set up the tables and decorations on the wedding day?How many waiters will they use for your number of guests and what will they wear?Our top tip is don't say yes straight away. Do your research, check reviews and make sure you're getting good value for money. If you're using a wedding planner, it's likely they'll know planners, couples and venues that have used the caterer before so you'll get some honest reviews.If you're having your wedding in Italy and your guests are out on holiday for a few days, you might consider a pizza night, cocktail party or wine tasting the evening before the wedding. It's a really lovely way for your guests to get to know each other, see and experience more of Italy and make the wedding last more than one day!
